Life as a high school student can be stressful, especially with college applications and decisions around the corner. Sometimes I like to remind myself of the things I adore to lift my spirits up.

  1. Road Trips

In the last 5 years, I’ve been on several road trips with my family. They are some of the most memorable experiences of my childhood, and have made me love taking road trips. I love looking out the car window for hours and seeing the world pass by as we listen to music and heat to our destination.

  1. Watching movies early in the morning

There’s no feeling like watching a nice movie in your room while everyone’s asleep. In the morning, there’s that feeling where it’s a new day, and watching a movie brings this cozy feeling for the rest of the day. This is especially best in the winter when it’s snowing.

  1. Walking in the freezing snow

I am very fond of snow. Winter is my favorite season, and taking walks outside as the snow falls is one of the most calming things I can do. Although it’s cold, watching the snowfall as you walk is soothing and definitely takes my mind off of things.

  1. Watching the sunrise

Watching the sunrise is a peaceful experience. Waking up while it’s dark can be unsettling, but it’s totally worth it once you see the beautiful orange colors spread throughout the sky. The color of the sunrise is one of my favorite things to look at.

  1. Kane and Abel

When I read this book I couldn’t keep it down for at least three hours. This story was so well written and is a classic that everyone should read. This is one of those books where you wish you could read it again for the first time.

  1. Wii

I like to fire up my old Wii every few months to take down memory lane. There are so many games that I’ve forgotten, and sometimes listening to the iconic Wii chime brings back intense nostalgia from when I was 7 years old.

  1. India

I don’t get to travel much outside the country except when I visit my family in India. I adore my family, they are just so supportive and loving of who I am, and I miss them always. Plus, life in India is very different compared to here in the US, and I enjoy the street food and culture.

  1. Kingda Ka

I have always loved roller coasters, and although it’s been a long time since I have been on one, I still remember going on the fastest roller coaster, Kingda Ka, five years ago. It was exhilarating, and I like to think back to this memory when I am feeling sad.

  1. All nighters with friends

I enjoy spending time with my friends always, but it is best when we decide to stay up all night. It makes the day feel long and it can be seen as a fun challenge. I find this to be one of the best ways to pass time, and it makes me completely forget about the stresses I have in the world.

  1. Snow days

I love snow, and snow days are just the cherry on top. The best feeling is going to bed the night before a snow day, knowing that you can sleep in. Snow days are one of the best surprises that can be given to a high school student, and I will remember them forever.
