On December 12, the Garnet Valley Science Olympiad team competed at the North Pocono High School Invitational. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the team competed virtually against 60 other schools. These competitors spanned from the PA-NY-NJ tri-state area to all the way across the country in California. Despite matching up against some of the best teams in the PA-NY-NJ area and even more from across the country, GVHS Scioly showed up with a dominant preformance. The team finished at 4th place, their best performance ever at the North Pocono Invitational. They also earned many medals across their individual events:
1st places:
Chem Lab: Katherine Li & Aadarsh Balaji
Designer Genes: Juliet Yang & Elizabeth Nguyen
Disease Detectives: Elizabeth Nguyen & Zora Mardjoko
Machines: Brandon Gorski & Aadarsh Balaji
2nd places:
Anatomy & Physiology: Aadarsh Balaji & Juliet Yang
3rd Places:
Water Quality: Relic Law & Rogan Law
4th Places:
Protein Modeling: Juliet Yang, Hiral Palakurty, & Ashrith Settivari
Hopefully, they can continue to carry this momentum into their future competitions at Duke University, Troy Athens high school and many more. Once again, congratulations to everyone on the Garnet Valley Science Olympiad team and good luck with your future competitions.
