On May 2, 2022, The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will hold the 2022 Met Gala. This year will mark the first time there have ever been two Met Gala’s held within eight months. Since the Pandemic, many events over the last few years have been canceled, including a Met Gala. While the organization ultimately canceled the 2020 Met Gala in 2021 instead of canceling the event, they decided to push it back to November instead of May. Although this happened, the organizers decided to keep the expected date for the 2022 Met Gala. This is why the two parties are so close to one another.
This year’s theme is In America: An Anthology of Fashion, piggybacking off of last year’s theme, American Independence, and the invite list will stay relatively the same as well. We can expect to see Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and hopefully, see a return of Zendaya and Kylie Jenner. While there is not much information on who will be hosting the event or the exact guest list, I can guess that this year will have a great outcome as usual.
Overall this Met Gala is going to be one for the books! Be sure to tune in to vogue.com to watch the event’s live stream!
