Kevin Smith’s 10 Favorite Things

My name is Kevin Smith and I am a senior at Garnet Valley High School. This is a list of ten of my favorite things. This will include a great variety of things, from songs, to movies, to all sorts of possible sources of happiness. I love sports (both watching and playing them), movies, songs, and food.

  1. The Incredibles

This is probably my favorite movie. I have seen this so many times, probably into the 20s by now. Yet no matter how many times I watch it, I am still willing to watch it again. At this point, I can quote almost the entire movie. All of my siblings are the same way. We all watch it and quote it.

  1. Burgers

I absolutely love burgers. They are definitely my favorite food. Usually, when I go out to eat, I end up ordering a burger. They are so good no matter how you cook them–and there are many ways to cook them. Burgers are so versatile and underrated. You can put almost anything on a burger and it will be good.

  1. “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5

This is one of my favorite songs. It is so upbeat and happy and it is just a song that makes you feel good. An all around banger, I can always sing to it.

  1. Star Wars

I have turned out to be a pretty big Star Wars nerd. I love the movies (other than the sequels). I also really like the video games (Star Wars Battlefront II, Jedi Fallen Order, etc), and I love the TV shows such as the Mandalorian and The Clone Wars.

  1. Pretzels

I love snack food, but pretzels are absolutely fantastic. Pretzels are super underrated. People always think its the worst part of party mix but that’s because they are dumb. Pretzels are mad underrated and deserve more respect.

  1. Ocean City, New Jersey

This is also tied for my favorite vacation spot. I have been to Ocean City every summer of my life. I go down there numerous times throughout the summer. My grandparents used to own a house, but they just recently sold it. My other set of grandparents have owned a house there since the 70s. Unfortunately, they both passed away recently and the house is very old and worn out. It is not a nice house anymore and on such a huge lot that the house actually brings down the value of the land. It is getting torn down soon and they are building a new one on top of it.

  1. 2017-18 NFL Season

This is hands down my favorite season in NFL history. This was the first year that they allowed team celebrations, so the touchdown celebrations were amazing. Also, it was the first year I played fantasy football and my team was insane. I ended up winning the league. And, of course, it was the year the Eagles were great and won the Super Bowl. I look back on this season fondly.

  1. Citizens Bank Park

My grandfather used to have season tickets to the Phillies in the third row behind the home dugout. They were amazing seats. He used to take me to the games every once in a while and it is one of my favorite memories from my childhood. He sold the tickets once the Phillies started being bad and wasn’t able to sell the individual tickets anymore.

  1. Old Comedies

I love watching old comedies, especially ones that make absolutely no sense. The best are anything with Leslie Nielson, Monty Python, or Mel Brooks. I love The Naked Gun, Airplane, Life of Brian, The Holy Grail, Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and many others. I also love Robin Williams movies such as Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Morning Vietnam.

  1. My Dog

I just got a puppy in October after years of fighting my mom to get one. It is our first. Her name is Layla and she is 4 month old shi poo. She is by far the best present I have ever received in my life.
