To many, Valentine’s Day is seen as a time to spend with your significant other, while people who are single dread it. However, the Mental Health Awareness (MHA) Club introduced an essential concept— the importance of showing love to yourself, whether you are single or in a relationship.

The MHA leaders (Jill Fahey, Julia Gambacorta, and Carly Torrens) led their members in creating self-love valentines. The exercise encouraged participants to dive deep into their hearts and express their self-love. The members had freedom to make creative and personal valentines for themselves to represent everything they love about themselves! A variety of Charlie Brownie stickers, pink/red markers, and colorful papers allowed the members to freely express their emotions in a safe and loving space.

The leaders encourage society to practice self-love, not only on Valentine’s Day, but everyday.
