The football team may be the most popular fall sports team at Garnet Valley, but there are plenty of other fall sports teams that shouldn’t be overlooked. Two of these teams are the girl’s and boy’s soccer teams, and the girl’s field hockey team. This article will give you insight into these teams, and why you should be paying attention to how well these teams do.

Field Hockey

The GV girls field hockey team has yet to be beaten, as they stand at an impressive 7-0. They have been dominant on defense and offense, outscoring their opponents 38-1 so far this year. They are definitely one of the best teams in Delaware County, if not the best, and their dominance in the sport has lasted for several years. This week, the team goes head to head against Lower Merion and Conestoga on September 28th and 30th, with both games being held at Moe DeFrank Stadium.  If you ever have the chance you should definitely attend one of their games!

Girls Soccer

The GV girls soccer team has had an up-and-down start to the year, with wins over Interboro and Harriton, and losses to Downingtown West, Springfield, Ridley, Marple Newtown, and Unionville. The team has a homestand coming up, with games against Lower Merion, Conestoga, and Owen J. Roberts taking place on September 28th, 30th, and October 2nd, respectively. Hope to see you there!

Boys Soccer

The GV boys soccer team has also had an up-and-down start to their season, starting the season 0-2, then winning 5 of their last 6 games. This week, they have two tough matchups at Conestoga and Lower Merion. GV is one of the hottest teams in the Central League right now, and although they have two difficult matchups coming up, they definitely have the ability to continue to build on the success they have already had. Their next home game is against Upper Darby on October 5th, which should be a good one. Come out and support the team next Tuesday!
