The Good Ol’ Days

If I could enter a time machine and travel back to any point in history, I would go to  1950s America. During the fabulous fifties, families would gather around the dining table and savor a nice, home-cooked meal. They would spend time together playing board games while Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin would be playing in the background. With all the technology around today, children do not seem to spend as much time with their parents–which is quite devastating and causes individuals to lose the important aspect of verbal communication.

Additionally, many literary masterpieces were published in the 1950s. These great works include the Lord of The Rings trilogy by J.R.R Tolkien, Lord of The Flies by William Golding, and East of Eden by John Steinbeck. Fantastic films, such as Rear Window and Singin’ in The Rain were also released during this time period. Girls could look up to women like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly rather than the Kardashians. Furthermore, the popularity of rock and roll music rose in the 1950s; it would be pretty amazing to see Elvis or Chuck Berry in concert. In conclusion, if  I could enter a time machine, I would without a doubt travel back to the “good ol’ days”.
