Songs for the Band, Orchestra, and Choir

As spring is slowly but steadily approaching behind the footprints of winter snow, another event other than graduation is in the making. All three of the school’s main music programs have finished their winter concert and are beginning to prepare for the spring concert.

The band has planned a number of songs for concert band. They include Under the Double Eagle and Teddy Trombone, as well as Stars & Stripes, Mekong, Be Thou My Vision and Disney at the Oscars. The jazz band is going to play Sandie’s Dance, A Child Is Born, Last Train to Paradise, and Whiplash for the concert.

The orchestra has Mozart’s concerto No. 3 planned and Tim Burton’s, Alice in Wonderland arranged by James Kazik. Other songs include Fantasia on a theme and Scherzo from Beethoven’s symphony No. 9.

The full choir is singing Hear My Prayer, O Sifuni Mungu, and Ching-A-Ring Chaw. The senior song chosen this year is For Good from the Wicked musical and the Men’s ensemble has planned to sing Sh boom. As always, the concert will be ending with Old Irish Blessing.

All the programs are not fully completed and are subject to change.
