Garnet Valley High School successfully hosted its Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 19th, in the small gym, and the event proved to be an incredible success. From 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., students and staff came together to support an important cause and make a meaningful impact on the community.
Thanks to strong participation and careful planning, the drive collected 56 pints of blood, including 9 Power Red donations; an outstanding achievement that will help save many lives. Donors signed up in advance through QR codes shared on school TVs and Student Council and Red Cross social media pages, which helped ensure a smooth and organized process throughout the day.
Student donors were well prepared, following guidelines to eat breakfast, stay hydrated, and get enough rest beforehand. After donating, participants relaxed in the recovery area with free snacks and juice, knowing their generosity could help save up to three lives per donation.
As a thank-you, every donor received a $20 e-gift card from the American Red Cross, adding an extra incentive to an already rewarding experience. The GVHS Blood Drive highlighted the school’s strong sense of community, compassion, and school spirit, and it stood out as a proud example of students and staff working together for the greater good.
See you next year!
