Garnet Valley is proud to announce that an outstanding 19 Garnet Valley High School students have made it into PMEA District 12 Honors Music Ensembles through a highly competitive audition process. Over 700 students from approximately 50 high schools across Delaware County, Chester County, and Philadelphia auditioned for these prestigious ensembles. District 12 is one of the most competitive in the state, making it even more impressive that 19 of our own musicians made it to districts. Selection represents a significant musical achievement and reflects the dedication, talent, and hard work of our students.
What is PMEA?
PMEA, also known as the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, is the association for music educators in PA. Music teachers from participating schools work together to plan and run festivals that give students the chance to perform, learn, and grow as musicians. At these District level festivals, students will audition again for the opportunity to advance to the Region level, with the possibility of advancing even further to the all-state level.
