The Lady Jags have been competing hard and training consistently all year to make it as far as possible this 2025 season. After a superstar regular season, finishing 21-1, taking the Central League title, and finishing second in the District 1 6A Tournament, it's no surprise to anyone that GVWB is playing in the State Semifinals game tonight for a chance to play in the State Championship.

Garnet Valley’s strong season finish seeded them second in the District 1 6A bracket and gave them a bye into round two of the tournament, where they easily beat North Penn (15th seed) 54-38. The girls refused to let up in the quarterfinals, easily taking down Haverford (10th seed) 54-44.

The District semifinals were intense as the Lady Jags battled out against the third seed in the tournament, Upper Dublin, in the 2020 Center. Unsurprisingly enough, the Jaguars pulled out the win, beating Upper Dublin 46-32, placing them into the District 1 6A semifinals where they would face off against Perkiomen Valley at Saint Joseph University.

The Lady Jags played the best they could but lost 30-43, going out hard against the first seed in the bracket. Yet, Garnet Valley kept their head in the game after this tough loss as they headed into the State Bracket.

Garnet Valley pulled out another easy win against Mechanicsburg, beating them 52-23 at home to start strong in round one of the State Tournament. The second round against Altoona was no different. The Lady Jags took another easy win beating the team 54-38.

Cardinal O'Hara was who the Lady Jags played next in the quarterfinals. The 18-9 team was going to be some of Garnet Valley’s toughest competition so far. In a tight game running into double overtime, Garnet Valley was able to pull out a win, beating O’Hara 49-43.

All of GVWB’s hard work this season has brought them to the State Tournament Semifinals, which will be held tonight against Upper St. Clair. Upper St. Clair currently holds a record of 21-6 while Garnet Valley’s record is currently 29-2. At 5:00 pm tonight, the Lady Jags will fight hard against the Panthers for a chance in the State Championship game which will be held next Friday, March 28th.

Congratulations to the Lady Jags on an amazing season so far! The team's dedication, hard work, and talent are sure to be seen tonight as the girls give their all to this game. Best of luck GVWB! Go Jags!!
