After a scoreless draw against England and a 1-1 draw against Wales, the USA is in a bit of a precarious situation. They have to beat Iran to advance to the knockout stages.
In the England game, neither team really was able to create many dangerous chances, and neither team was able to be clinical enough to score the few chances they had. The USA had a chance which Pulisic fired at the crossbar and England’s Harry Kane missed a header late in the game. But, this performance could have been much worse from the USA, so I think many American fans will be content.
The USA will face Iran in what could be their final World Cup game. Iran is coming off a very good performance against Wales, defeating them 2-0. The USA’s fate will be decided at Al Thumama Stadium, Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 at 2:00 PM ET. So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
