  1. Turkey Trot – Help out at a local Turkey Trot event near you, or try racing! Lace-up your running shoes and invite family and friends to go on a run. See who finishes first in your group and celebrate with a great Thanksgiving feast. Delco Turkey Trot 2022
  1. Play Games – Play bingo or board games, or share what you’re thankful for this year! You can even set up an event in your neighborhood with Thanksgiving-themed cornhole, scavenger hunt, or trivia!
  1. Volunteer/Charity Drives – As you may know, Student Council is the Annual Charity (canned food) Drive! It’s never too late to donate or help out at a soup kitchen near you! Are you not compelled to volunteer? Check this article out on The Benefits of Volunteering.
  1. Watch A Holiday Classic – There are many Thanksgiving movies like A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Free Birds, Garfield’s Thanksgiving, and many more. If you have any annoying younger cousins or siblings, you can keep them busy with these holiday classics (or watch them yourself)!

6. Decorate – Make centerpieces, decorate the kitchen with fall colors, or help set up at a Thanksgiving party. This is a great way to keep yourself busy but still relax.

7. Family Fun – The best way to spend the holidays is with family; Thanksgiving is a great holiday to come together. If you can’t bring the family together, send cards or facetime them to remind your relatives that the holidays are here and there are lots to be thankful for! Deep down, I can assure you that everyone is grateful to be together, regardless of your arguments with siblings or cousins.

8. Relax/Sleep in/Read a book – If you want to relax, then do just that! Sleep in, read a book, watch a movie, and never skip the great feast ;). 5 Ways To Have A Relaxing Thanksgiving.

9. Decorating for Christmas??? – I can’t miss that stores already have Christmas joy coming in… even though it isn’t Thanksgiving yet. Your neighbors may already have a Christmas tree in their house (or maybe you do)! You may be celebrating Christmas or Hanukkah, or perhaps you’re just waiting for New Year’s Day. No matter the holiday, feel free to get festive and start decorating and planning. Here are ways to decorate your house for Christmas, even before Thanksgiving begins – Holiday Decorating.
