During second learn, on October 18th, Jeremy Park and TJ Foltz shaved their heads. TJ and Jeremy are members of the Drama Club, or GVPAA, who are playing Uncle Fester in our school’s production of Addams Family on November 3rd-5th. In the show, Fester is described as, “A fat, bald person with no specific sexuality.” So, Sam from Salon Moxi came to the school and shaved TJ and Jeremy’s heads for the character, however this wasn’t just for the show. One of our own teachers, Mr. Drozdowski, unfortunately lost his wife to cancer. This event raised money in honor of her and Mr. Droz allowed all money raised to be donated to our Mini-THON. Our Mini-THON raises money for Pediatric Cancer through the organization Four Diamonds. For this fundraiser, admission was $5, but there was also an option for a chance to be a real part of the head-shaving. If you paid an extra $5, or a total of $10 or more, your name was entered into a raffle for the chance to cut a piece of their hair off. 8-10 students were picked as well as four adults. Mr. Longo and Mrs. Foltz, TJ’s mother and a teacher hear, got to cut a piece of TJ’s hair and Jeremy’s mother and Hillary, one of our trainers, got to cut a piece of Jeremy’s hair. In total about $1,500 were raised and the Drama Club is one step closer to putting on their amazing show!
