While looking at places to visit Slovenia often gets overlooked, but this stunning country should be on everyone’s bucket list. The quaint country is located in central Europe between Italy and Croatia. Slovenia is known for its delicious food, breathtaking views, and skiing.

While traveling abroad is typically expected to be expensive, Slovenia is one of the cheaper options, an average coffee is around a dollar and an average meal at a nice restaurant would only be 15 dollars. Even universities are less expensive there and schools will help to accommodate housing by giving a discount.

The green nation wants to preserve its natural beauty by encouraging bike riding over cars and motorized boats under strict regulations. The nation has a 96 out of 100 on sustainability indicators. The production of food is taken very seriously and to get the best crops bees are taken care of extremely well with 1 out of every 200 people beekeepers.

Tourism is a growing factor in Slovenia’s economy, some attractions include skiing, hiking, spas, and beautiful scenery. Some of the oldest castles reside in Slovenia. Some of the castles in Slovenia have been built into caves and on sides of mountains, with hidden passages for knights from the middle ages.

The country is fairly small so it could be explored in only a few days, making it the perfect spot for a short trip.
