On Friday, April 1, Garnet Valley hosted their 14th Mini-THON to help raise money for childhood cancer. The event supports the Four Diamonds and For the Kids (FTK) organizations which use all of their donations to fund research, medical bills, and other expenses that the families of children with cancer have to pay.

The nine-hour no-sitting event is meant to stand against cancer and help raise money to donate to the charity. Performances from Danny Lam, the Garnet Valley Chorus, Chideraa Ugwoke, and others were done every hour to boost morale and keep people excited to be at the event. The Mini-THON team also choreographed a line dance that everyone performed every hour to celebrate every hour completed and have everyone in the same spot having fun. The students also participated in dodgeball, basketball, and volleyball tournaments. A fun rave with music and light sticks was hosted at the end of the event to bring everyone together again and celebrate the money that was raised.

With the help of students, teachers, community members, and family members, Garnet Valley was able to raise a grand total of $54,154.13 to donate to Four Diamonds! Thank you to all who came to the event. The GV Mini-THON committee hopes to see everyone again next year and raise even more money to donate to the kids!
