Thousands of people around the world counted down the days to the 12th of November, 2021 to hear 31 minutes and 19 seconds of true silk sonic by the talented Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak. The long-awaited album did not disappoint as it combined Rhythm & Blues, funk, and soul to create a bold and lively mood for listeners.
Silk Sonic was based on soul and funk music from the 60s and 70s. Mars and Paak did their research—reading old magazines and conversing with old session guys—using the same guitar pick and drum skin. Additionally, they focused on old-school playing and recording. With Mars’ obsession with re-working and Paak’s multi-talented personality, both artists created an amazing album that the world didn’t know they needed.
