Garnet Valley kicked off last week with an outstanding win over rival schools Strath Haven and Delaware County Christian School in Hi-Q, the oldest continuous academic quiz competition in the United States.
Since 1948, Delco Hi-Q pits competing students against each other in various subjects from U.S. History to Shakespeare for the sole goal of obtaining the national championship title in April – a feat Garnet Valley has proven itself capable of achieving before, having won last year’s championship series and being the current trophy holders.
With leaderboard standings depending on points accrued during meets rather than wins, Garnet Valley’s first round score of 62 puts them atop the leaderboard again as the highest scoring team of the season. Stay tuned for future updates, and make sure you’re ready for GV’s home meet in February! More details coming soon.
