On July 26th, 2019, the black comedy crime film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, will be released in theaters nationwide; despite the release date being months away, the upcoming film has sparked much discussion.
The movie is directed by Quentin Tarantino, who has helmed critically acclaimed films that include Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be his 9th film. In the past, Tarantino has declared that he will direct only ten films in his lifetime. He believes these ten films will comprise of the ultimate Quentin Tarantino collection—ten unique and spectacular movies that defined American cinema.
The penultimate addition to this collection, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has a star-studded cast; many of the cast members have worked with Tarantino in the past. Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt—two famous movie stars who will finally share the screen for the very first time—play an aging actor and his stunt double respectively as they navigate a Hollywood they no longer know. One storyline will also be centered around the Manson murders of 1969 as DiCaprio’s character’s neighbor is Sharon Tate, the Hollywood starlet who was murdered by the Manson family when she was 8.5 months pregnant. Tate will be portrayed by the beautiful and talented Margot Robbie.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a motion picture that might seem distant and different from most movies being produced in 2019, but that doesn’t mean it will be a poor production. So, if you’re looking for something fresh (and maybe nostalgic) to watch in the summer, take a trip to the movie theater and purchase a ticket for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
