The National Art Honor Society of Garnet Valley High School inducted 23 new members on March 12th in the High School Library. The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) was begun in 1978 by the National Art Education Association (NAEA) to recognize students who have shown outstanding effort in the visual arts.
In order to be inducted, each student must have successfully completed one credit in visual arts and have maintained an 83% or above on each marking period, midterm, and final exam grade. You are also a student with good citizenship (no Saturday detentions, suspensions, and no more than 1 school detention).
The National Art Honor members must attend all meetings during enhancement, and complete a minimum of ten hours of art-related community service with our planned activities.
Some events include face painting at community fairs, collecting warm clothing in the winter, creating artwork for children’s hospitals, etc.
