In the past, Garnet Valley has held a plethora of different fundraisers for their music programs; in spring, the main event typically had been an event called “Save The Music,” a mostly student run event raised money for Musicopia, a program that raises funds to support music programs and education opportunities in Philadelphia.
However, this year, the music staff is beginning a new tradition: the Music Gala. The gala features teachers and students alike, and there will be performances from many different music groups grades 2-12. Prior to the event, there will be a reception held with pictures, refreshments, and food as well as a bake sale held by the indoor Colorguard and Drumline programs.
The gala will be held this Sunday, March 24th at 3pm, and will be a celebration our music program district-wide, rather than focusing the talents to individual performers who have signed up as the previous fundraiser had done. (Save The Music, on the other hand, will be combined with GV’s Got Talent and held on Wednesday, April 24th.) The music staff encourages you to attend if you can to support our students and help raise funds for music education!
Tickets in advance $15 at https://www.gvhsmusic.org/musicgala and $20 at the door.
