Garnet Valley field hockey team has had a fantastic run so far this fall season, currently ranked ninth in the PIAA District One 3, and tied for third in the Central League! The Jags have showed immense improvements from years past, already holding a better record than last season at 10-4-1. Since last season, the field hockey team has completely transformed, carrying the best stats the program has seen since 2013. This past week the Jags played three matches, two of which were against tough opponents with high rankings. On Tuesday, the Jaguars played a hard match against the reigning Central League champions, the Conestoga pioneers. Coming up short, the Jags lost 6-1 but used the loss as fuel to help motivate them to work even harder.

On Thursday, the Lady Jags celebrated their 10 graduating seniors at Senior Night! The team played Upper Darby and won, 6-0. Shoutout to all the seniors; Liv Brooks, Ciara Burke, Kerri Bradley, Simi Kolodka, Stephanie Fleitz, Sara Cripps, Kaitlyn Vo, Kacie Neurohr, Lauren Weaver & Rachel Snow on a great team win! On Friday, the Jags continued their win streak in a huge victory against #7 in the 2A division, Bishop Shanahan. The Jags won 3-1, allowing only one goal from Bishop Shanahan in the first 2 minutes of play, and then holding them for the next 58 minutes. The Jags have three games left in the regular season against Strathaven, Penncrest, and Radnor who is #4 in 2A. Come out and support the Jags field hockey- you won’t want to miss it! The Jags aren’t nearly done yet though, with high hopes of post season play, they will be a team to watch as districts and state championship games are just around the corner!
