Two weeks ago during the performances of Legally Blonde and our football team’s amazing playoff push, the GVHS Peer Counselors began canning for their biggest event, Gifts From Garnet Valley. The exciting time of year that just started, with all of the holiday spirit that is felt, is enjoyed by many, but not everyone is as privileged as others during this season. The goal of Gifts From Garnet Valley is to make sure that some kids who are less fortunate get the presents that they want for the holiday that they celebrate. In addition to the canning, teachers have been encouraged to “adopt a kid” if they are able to. This means raising around $60 from their class or classes in order to buy presents for the kid that they are “adopting.” The peer counselors are excited to start shopping for the presents after the fundraising time is over.
