Do you find yourself going back to someone that does not treat you right? Have you been holding on to a relationship that should be over? You need to get out a piece of paper and a pen and write down your #newrules.
Dua Lipa, an English model turned singer and songwriter, wrote these rules on how to get over a jerk in a song titled “New Rules.” The single is an incredible anthem for anyone who is having trouble doing what is best for them emotionally. The rules are as follows:
- Don’t pick up the phone
- Don’t let him in
- Don’t be his friend
Not only is the song catchy, it is relatable. Lipa understands what many of us experience (hopefully only once) in our lives. It can be really difficult to let go of someone who has meant a lot to you. “New Rules” is that song you will be putting on repeat after a breakup.
