The Girls Volleyball team has been undefeated in the Central League this 2017-2018 season, and we are out for another State Championship trophy. Garnet Valley Volleyball has committed to long hoursday in and day out to come out on top each year since we have a lot riding on us being the reigning State Champs.

Our JV Girls Volleyball team has been dominating all season throughout the Central League. We train each day to fight for our spots on Varsity next year. We all train to win the State Championship each and every time we practice. We have two more weeks to show what we got and to keep sweeping each team off their feet. Our libero, Bella Gainfield, really holds our court together. She doesnot let a ball drop around her and was a big help in getting to be undefeated. Our hitting skills are undeniable. Our front row is always aggressive and eager to swing away at everything. We play as a team, we win as a team, and we lose as a team.

Our next topic is the reigning State Champs, our varsity team. Just like our JV team, they were also undefeated in the Central League. However, they had a hard loss to Bishop Shannon last Friday. They train hard every day. As Coach Clark like to say, “no plays off.” Their mindset is to defend their legacy as State Champs and will do anything in their power to take it all again this season. The heart of the Varsity Team is libero Amber Goldberg and Rachel Cain. Amber leads the team and does not let anyone get down on themselves. Her passing skills are out of this world and no hit can scareher. She’s down on the floor if she has to be and does whatever it takes to get the job done. Next, Rachel Cain – Varsity’s setter. She assists each and every hitter to allow them to kill every play. She can take a bad pass and create a perfect set that any hitter can slam down. Their record shows their talent and we can’t wait to see how far they take it in the playoffs, and hopefully to the State Championship for another win for the books!
