Stage Crew: Behind the Scenes

The members of the GVHS Stage Crew paint the sets and signs for the shows put on each year. The stage dads build the sets, and the costume moms sew and bring in the costumes and some props and accessories. Stage Crew meetings are every Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM for about six hours, but the length can vary; meetings are also typically located in the auditorium. Sometimes they stay later and sometimes they leave early, depending on the amount of work and difficulty of what needs to get done. There are currently around 37 members in Stage and Tech Crew. Right now, they are preparing for the fall show, Legally Blonde.

The registration fee for Stage Crew is $100. The shows later on this year are Evita and A Chorus Line, which you can register for at gvhspaa.com. The registration money goes towards paint and painting tools, other materials, t-shirts, and lunches. Stage Crew is in need of sponsorships, so if you know of any businesses that would be willing to help out, please contact Mrs. Arters for more information.

Stage Crew is a wonderful place to make long-lasting relationships and become a part of a big family, and artistic talent is always appreciated! Show support by seeing the shows and the amazing sets they’ve worked so hard on. Legally Blonde showtimes are from November 16th through 18th. Tickets are on sale online starting October 16th at 10 AM and are sold starting October 15th at 1 PM at the GVHS Box Office. For more information about the shows, to register for the shows or Stage and Tech Crew, or to purchase tickets, go to gvhspaa.com.
