Eagles score a 61-yard field goal, has the dream just become a reality? On September 25, 2017, during the NFL week 3 regular season, the Eagles played a game against the Giants in which they won 27-21. Yet, this was not the only victory the Eagles achieved that day as they were also able to set their own personal record for the longest field goal in the Eagles’ history. At the end of week 1, the Eagles had to take out their starting kicker, Caleb Sturgis, due to a strained hip flexor. They then brought in a new rookie kicker named Jake Elliott, who the week prior during their game against the Chiefs couldn’t make a 30-yard field goal. On the 25th, though, with Philly in losing 21-24 in the fourth quarter, Elliot was able to bring them back to a win with 2 field goals. The last field goal being 61-yards with 1 second left in the quarter to earn the win and set a new field goal record for the Eagles. This victory brought Philidelphia’s record to 2-1 and since then, the Eagles have won two more times to bring it to 4-1. Maybe with Jake Elliott as the Eagles’ new kicker, they will be able to secure a spot in the playoffs.
