CES 2016

Every January, the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is held in Las Vegas, Nevada to display the future of technology. Most big name companies display their upcoming product releases, and this year definitely saw some of the coolest technology out there. The interesting thing about CES this year, was that there were many more cars displayed than before. Of course, there was Tesla. Tesla has grown exponentially over the last couple of years and their ideas are some of the best on the market. The Tesla Model S is fully electric with self driving capabilities, a massive 17 inch touchscreen display, and an insane zero to sixty miles per hour jump in just 2.8 seconds. The Chevrolet Bolt also showed up as one of the biggest rivals to Tesla. They too had created a fully electric car but for a much more affordable price than Tesla. There were also concept cars like the Mercedes self driving car and the BMW I8 Spyder.

On top of the huge numbers of cars on display, the TV’s shown at CES were also quite fantastic. LG brought their G6 with its incredible 4K OLED display. Some other TVs stole the show like the 4K HDR, and the LG Super UHD 4K TV. The things that really stole the show though, were the incredible 8K TVs. The LG 98 inch 8K TV was astonishing with some of the most clear graphics a screen has ever seen. The cameras and phones at CES had some nice improvements, but lastly, the drones had gotten very advanced. DJI had made a stealthy black version of the Inspire 1, and released the Phantom 3 that shoots in 4K. Overall, 2016 should be a great year for technology with new cars, TVs and drones.
