This week at Garnet Valley High School is going to be very exciting as the week of homecoming is always a student favorite. Things kick off on Monday as pajama day will most likely make people happy waking up in the morning with their pajamas on. Each grade talleys up the amount of kids wearing the appropriate spirit wear item everyday in a competition to find out which class is the most spirited. Tuesday holds a theme that has never occurred at Garnet Valley called :Yacht Club day. As some people will have a harder time picking out an outfit than others, the students at Garnet Valley will use their creativity to flourish, and they will make it work. Wednesday is America day when students can show off their red, white, and blue spirit. Thursday, being Superhero day, will prove the age old question; does Garnet Valley like DC or Marvel better?
Homecoming tickets will be sold at all lunches this week along with each grades’ class shirts. Polaroid pictures will also be taken throughout this week at lunch for two dollars each. This is a perfect way for any student to capture his or her spirit in a cool photograph. Friday, the day of the football game, will be class shirt day, showing off the themes for each float. Friday night, before the big game, the homecoming floats will finally be revealed after weeks of work from each grade. The overall theme is “golden” because 2015 is the 50th anniversary of Garnet Valley. Many alumni are coming as the game is supposed to be packed. Lastly, the dance is on Saturday resulting in this year’s homecoming king and queen. It should be a fun, spirit-filled week, full of excitement.
