As the Jaguars got excited for their Friday away game against Haverford, they were interrupted by an unexpected sinkhole that developed at Haverford’s field. After negotiations with Haverford, the game was postponed to Saturday under the lights at Garnet Valley. The game was an interesting battle with Garnet Valley causing a safety on Haverford halfway through the first quarter. Derrick West was able to score after the kickoff and the Jags ended the quarter up 8-0. Halfway through the second quarter, Haverford fought back with a touchdown and a two point conversion and then another touchdown. On the last play of the half after time expired, junior Jacob Buttermore scored a touchdown to tie the game at 15 to end the half. The third quarter was a rough quarter for the Jags with a touchdown for Haverford and hardly any 1st downs for the Jags. The fourth quarter started off similarly with another Haverford score, but then Garnet Valley got a second wind and Derrick West once again scored to put the Jags in a threatening position. The Jags trailed 29-21 and had the ball in the last minute of the game. Unable to call time outs, the Jags were only able to make a few plays. They were unsuccessful and unfortunately lost in the final seconds. The Jags will look to redeem themselves this Friday away at Harriton.
